Back at MWC, at the start of March, two big companies released their latest flagship devices. These were HTC and Samsung and the two devices in question, were the HTC One M9 and the Samsung Galaxy S6, respectively. In spite of these two being the biggest two announcements from MWC, they both occurred on the same day of the event. Which made March 1st, the most significant day of the event, overall. However, it was felt that the HTC announcement was a little disappointing compared to that of Samsung. After all, the Galaxy S6 seemed to be an overall reworking of their flagship device while many thought the HTC One M9 was too similar to its predecessor, the One M8.
Well, following on from HTC’s launch announcement, the company has today taken part in a special U.S. live stream announcement on YouTube, which detailed their new “Uh Oh” plan. In short, this is the plan which means that whatever happens to your newly purchased HTC One M9, HTC will “have your back”. In short, damage your device and they will replace it, free of charge and for the first twelve months.
Well, during the live stream, there was also a Q&A session which too part where twitter questions were briefly answered. One of those questions, was when would the HTC One M9 become available in the U.S. Well, it seems the date given, was April 10th. If this sounds a little familiar then it should. This is pretty much the date the Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to become available globally. Not to mention, this is also the date in which the Apple Watch also goes on sale. So it seems, April 10th is going to be a big day all-around. Whether this is a smart move to release the One M9 round about the same time as the Galaxy S6 or the Apple Watch, remains to be seen. However, it does mean the day will be a big day for those interested in tech. Which device will you be hoping to pick up on April 10th? Samsung or HTC? Galaxy S6 or One M9? Let us know.
