Yesterday was a big day in the android world. Although, Samsung are infamous for releasing a significant number of different android devices each year, it is not every day that a new device catches the attention, as much as yesterday’s announced Samsung Galaxy S6 seems to have. The newly added addition to the Galaxy family, comes in two variants, a standard S6 and an S6 Edge and both seem to be truly premium products, inside and out. The Galaxy S6 not only comes with a Gorilla Glass 4 front but also a Gorilla Glass 4 back cover, which will give the device a seriously premium feel.
That said, there are some issues with having such a luxury device and especially a non-removable back like the Samsung Galaxy S6 does. The first is that there is no external SD card on offer. This will be of a concern to some Samsung users, although Samsung have looked to combat this by offering the Galaxy S6 in an 128GB variant. The other and more pressing issue, is that the battery is now a non-removable battery. This one in particular, will be of concern to potential S6 owners, as this has for a long time been one of the main reasons touted to buy a Galaxy product. In fact, it was that long ago that Samsung themselves used the ‘Wall Hugger’ theme in a number of videos to highlight the fact that while iPhone users could not change batteries, Samsung owners could.
Well, if you are thinking about picking up a Galaxy S6 and are worried about this, then do not worry too much. Mophie did not hesitate in announcing today that they are making a battery powered case specially designed for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. The case will not only protect your expensive Galaxy S6 device but will also provide a much-needed charge when needed. In fact, the battery capacity of the case will be in excess of the actual Samsung battery, with an additional 3,300mAh of power provided. Of course, the case will not come cheap and is set to be priced at $99.99. In terms of when they will be available, well, they will available to purchase when the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge launch in April.
