Near the tail end of last month, Motorola let us all know that the Moto 360, their stylish Android Wear watch, would be joining the likes of the Moto X in the Moto Maker customiser. Today, according to the still-updating website, the watch is getting put in.
So, if you head to Motorola’s website, the 360 is sitting with a gold body and a brown leather strap, which is no combination that Motorola sells. Next to it, you’ll see the now-familiar colorful circle next to the words ‘Build Yours’. The link to the actual Moto Maker page, as well as the page within Moto Maker itself where you’ll get to play with the 360’s customisation options, is up and working, so go have a look around.
The Moto Maker page for the 360 should feature, when it’s live, a similar experience to the Moo X’s, where you choose a body / shell color, of either black, silver, or champagne gold, then choose a strap, of either leather or metal, then probably be able to buy any accessories or the like for your 360 or phone. This may sound like one of those ‘you have to really want it to go try to make one’, but people have long been playing with Moto Maker, both for the 2013 and 2014 editions of the Moto X, and that likely caused so many purchases because they loved the design so much. Hopefully, and especially given the time it is in the new year, this means that Motorola will not only garner the attention and purchasing dollars of style-hungry tech fanatics, but also that when the new generation of Motorola’s wearable comes out, it’ll be added almost immediately to Moto Maker with customisation galore.
Also in the good news about the 360’s joining of Moto Maker is the coming availability of that watch band that it was initially advertised with; the one that has the normal metal band and links, but is contoured and curved a little, and showed itself both in silver and black (The band in question is actually going to delay the shipping of your 360 if you choose to buy it, though). That’s especially great since the only metal bands that Motorola sells separate from the watch is the 22mm silver and black steel, with the thin 18mm silver and gold bands having yet to be sold sans watch. Regardless, the 360 will make a great addition to the Moto Maker lineup, making it the most customisable, or at least entertainingly customisable, Android Wear watch out on the market.
