There were a number of big devices which saw their release last year. One of those which attracted its fair share of headlines and good reviews was the DROID Turbo by Motorola. In fact, this one came with a rather big press launch with Verizon and some rather neat James Franco videos to highlight the speed of the device and it’s super fast charging. Well, if you are in the market for a new device then you might have noted on Thursday it was reported that Verizon Wireless had started selling the DROID Turno in a Blue Sapphire colored version of the Ballistic Nylon edition. At the time, the phone was listed with a $199.99 two-year contract price
The big selling point for the Turbo is its massive quick charging speeds known as ‘Turbo Charging’ which suggests the device can utilize up to 8 hours of battery after only a 15-minute charge time. However, the rest of the specs were pretty good too with the DROID Turbo offering a 5.2-inch QHD AMOLED display, sporting a 1440 x 2560 resolution. Inside, the Turbo is loaded with 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and powered by last year’s Qualcomm flagship processor, the Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor (which clocks at 2.7GHz). In terms of cameras, the Turbo comes loaded with a 21 megapixel rear shooter as well as a more modest 2 megapixel front facing option. Not to mention, a decent sized 3,900mAh battery.
Well, if you needed a little bit more of a push to pick one up, then it now looks like Verizon has dropped the price of the DROID Turbo to $149.99. This is essentially a 25% discount from what the price was last week. Of course, this is the price for a two-year contract, so you will need to sign up for a contract to take advantage of the price. That said, if you are in the market then this might be a deal worth checking out. What’s more, is that the discount seems to be available for all colored variants of the Droid Turbo. This means you can pick it up for the $149.99 price in red or black in the metalized glass fiber model. Or in blue or black for the Ballistic Nylon editions. Let us know if you do decide to pick one up.
