MWC 2015: Lenovo Announces their TAB 2 A8

Lenovo’s newest 8-inch tablet offering was announced today in Barcelona. This is their TAB 2 A8. It’s a HD tablet (yes that’s 1280×720) and its going to cost about $129 USD. Along with the TAB 2 A8, Lenovo has added Dolby Atmos for their speakers. Providing a moving audio experience over headphones where sound seems to come from all directions, including overhead, which really puts you inside the action. Might be scary if you’re watching a scary movie. The TAB 2 A8 also features a 5MP camera to take photos. It’s powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop, and it sounds like it’s stock Android, which would be a surprise. The TAB 2 A8 also features a MediaTek 64-bit quad-core processor (MT8161 for WiFi tablets and MT8735 for the LTE versions). Lenovo has also added 32GB of storage along with a microSD card slot.

“Recognizing that one tablet doesn’t fit all needs, we created the 8-in entry TAB 2 A8. This HD tablet caters to those who want to stay connected at a wallet-friendly price or who juggle multiple needs using one device. Starting at just $129 USD (WiFi models), the TAB 2 A8 can handle the most frequent personal connectivity tasks with ease, from updating social media to video chatting. Even lighter than the TAB 2 A10-70 at 360 grams and just as thin, the TAB 2 A8 lasts through an entire eight-hour work day without plugging in and features a dual SIM card slot for voice and LTE for data. And like the TAB 2 A10- 70, this 8-in tablet packages affordability with LTE high speed wireless technology, a feature typically unexpected in an entry level tablet.”

The Lenovo TAB 2 A8 is going to be available in June of this year. The WiFi model will be priced at $129, with the LTE coming in at $179. Lenovo will also offer four color options. Including Pearl White, Ebony, Midnight Blue and Neon Pink. We will be getting hands on with these very shortly. So make sure you stay tuned to Android Headlines for all the details.
