New Report Shows The HTC One M9 Overheating Under Heavy Load Usage

When it comes to the HTC One M9, it seems reviews are a little mixed. This was, one of the most rumored and speculated devices of recent times and as such big things were expected prior to the launch. That said, once it did launch, the overall feeling seemed to be one of disappointment with little notable changes on offer from the previous HTC One M8. Well, in fairness to HTC, the company seems to be placing all its eggs in the feature basket with feature upgrades being the main upgrades on offer. That said, a new report which came out today seems to suggest that the HTC One M9 might be suffering from severe overheating issues.

Now, to be clear, this is not the first time a suggestion has been made that the HTC One M9 suffers from overheating. Not to mention, the HTC One M9 also comes loaded with the latest Qualcomm flagship processor, the Snapdragon 810, which also has had its fair share of issues, with the most notable one being overheating. So, there is some basis to the idea that the HTC One M9 might suffer in this respect. In the latest tests provided by Tweakers (source link below) it seems the One M9 does overheat more than other devices and by quite a margin.

In fact, Tweakers found that the HTC One M9 exceeded temperatures of 55 degrees Celsius. In comparison, other ‘competitor’ devices (included the HTC One M8) running under the same circumstances and stresses never passed 43 degrees Celsius. If you are wondering what those circumstances were then according to Tweakers the devices were all tested while running high load games likes Asphalt 8 and Assassin’s Creed: Pirates. Interestingly, the report also notes that while other devices tend to turn themselves off during periods of excessive overheating, this was not the case with the One M9 with the device remaining on in spite of becoming “painful to hold the device”.
