Olio's Model One Smartwatch Is Versatile And Pricey Starting At $600

While smartwatches are starting to gain some traction, most of the smartwatches out there already are less than $300 and are not what most would consider to be in the realm of luxury. While not necessarily claiming to be a luxury smartwatch, the Olio Model One does boast precision craftsmanship with a focus on details making their smartwatch different from other offerings. The case for the Olio Model One is crafted from stainless steel and comes in two different options, the steel collection, and the black collection. Just like the Moto 360 which is also a stainless steel case and comes with the options for leather or steel bands, the Olio Model One can be picked up with either the steel or black steel case, and options for bands in steel, black steel, black leather, brown leather, and tan suede.

The Olio Model One works with both Android and iOS devices, is water resistant, and supports wireless charging, and according to Olio it’s made the highest quality materials “to create an enduring and expressive design.” It runs its own OS on board and unlike other smartwatches that currently exist, it tries to learn from you the more that you use it to feed you relevant content on the display. It also breaks things up into two separate categories that Olio is calling temporal streams of earlier and later content. Earlier streams consist of notifications and important information that you have missed when things first came through, while the later streams contain upcoming details like the weather, what’s in your schedules, traffic, and other information, with the idea being to help you plan out the rest of the day.

Tapping on information that comes up in these streams allows the user to either swipe left to dismiss or swipe right to “take action” and interact with those notifications, which could be anything from a message, and email, or checking a voicemail. Paired with the Olio Assist application the watch is geared towards saving you time and attempts to understand your preferences so it can offer up insightful suggestions to keep you focused on the more important things going on in the day. It’s also voice activated for ease of use, which is something that is pretty much standard with most smartwatches. The steel collection Olio Model One with leather bands no matter the color will run $595, while the steel band is $645, while the black collection Olio Model One with leather bands will run $745, and $795 for the black steel band.
