A Quick Comparison of LG G Flex 2 – HTC One M9 – Samsung Galaxy Note 4 – Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge

What a time for the smartphone industry – especially if you are in the market for buying a new one.  Of course, with the plenary of choices available at this time, it could make your decision that more difficult.  The new LG G Flex 2, the HTC One M9, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, or the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are all out there – any one of them should make for a solid choice.

How you use your smartphone could influence which device you would want to purchase: Do you like the curved display, then you would want to purchase the G Flex 2.  Do you value a full-metal case, then you need the One M9.  Do you need a device with an S-Pen and great multitasking capabilities, then the Galaxy Note 4 makes perfect sense.  Do you want the newest QHD display, great camera and a flare for the different, then the new Galaxy S6 Edge may suit your needs.

At 5-inches, the HTC One M9’s FHD is the smallest display, followed closely by the 5.1-inch QHD Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge.  After that, we jump to the 5.5-inch FHD display on the LG G Flex 2 and the largest display is the 5.7-inch QHD display on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.  The G Flex 2 has a curved to the entire device from the display to battery, while the other four devices have the more traditional flat display, with the only exception being on the right and left curved edges on the Galaxy S6 Edge.

Three of the devices use a Qualcomm processor – the G Flex 2 and the HTC One M9 use the Snapdragon 64-bit 810 octa-core, while the Galaxy Note 4 uses the 32-bit Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor.  The new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge both use the new 64-bit Exynos octa-core processor.  All three are great processors and will perform quite admirably on their respective devices.  All five devices are packing 3GB of RAM and each one has a base of 32GB of internal storage – the G Flex 2, HTC One M9 and Galaxy Note 4 have room for expansion via a microSD Card, whereas the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge have no expansion and must be purchased with either 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of built-in storage.

The camera on these devices are better than ever – the G Flex 2 has a 13MP/2.1MP combination with Laser autofocus, OIS+ and dual LED flash.  The One M9 has a brand new 20MP/4MP camera unit with autofocus and dual LED flash, but no OIS.  The Galaxy Note 4 has 16MP/3.7MP lenses with autofocus, LED flash and OIS.  The Galaxy S6/S6 Edge use a 16MP/5MP combo with autofocus, LED flash and OIS.  The batteries have quite a range in sizes as well – the G Flex 2 has a curved 3000mAh battery, the One M9 packs a 2840mAh battery, the Galaxy Note 4 packs the largest battery at 3220mAh and is the only removable one of the bunch.  The Galaxy S6 has a 2550mAh and the S6 Edge uses the 2600mAh – both are non-removable.

These devices are all slightly different and your favorite selection will be based on your likes and needs.  All five devices are beautiful, solidly built and look like premium devices.  LG, HTC and Samsung have now put their cards on the table and we hope you are excited as we are to get our hands on all of these for a thorough testing.  Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know what you think about the latest flagship devices…as always, we would love to hear from you.
