Samsung is ‘pressing’ the pavement hard with it new Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge with a World Tour to show off the fruits of its hard labor and introduce to the world…in a big way, the merits of their new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. The World Tour will travel from city to city and will sponsors different events based on the local culture in that city or country.
Samsung Electronics started their World Tour on March 24 at the Armani Hotel in Dubai, as the first stop and show off their “All New Galaxy.” The crowd of 260 guests included Samsung’s major accounts, the media and the opinion leaders in the Middle East – if Samsung can convince this group, it can go a long way toward acceptance of the new Galaxy S6 Series. Samsung even invited Elissar, a popular singer in the Middle East, to introduce the devices and perform for the guests.
The second leg of the World Tour jumped over to Russia on March 25 and coincided with Moscow Fashion Week. Gostiny Dvor Department Store held the event for 100 guests that included the fashion industry and the media…after all…somebody has to cover the event. Russian fashion designer Valentin Yudashkin took the Galaxy S6 for a walk down the fashion runway. The designer is said to be working with Samsung in the designing of accessories for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. The Galaxy S6 World Tour will continue on March 26 in Singapore, then move on to Beijing, China on March 31, then jump over to Hong Kong on April 1 and finally Tokyo on April 8.
When Samsung call this concept of an “All New Galaxy,” they are not fooling around. After the dismal sales of the Samsung Galaxy S5 in 2014, they were looking to create a new Galaxy S from the ground up, and that is exactly what they did. Gone is the all of the plastic and in is the full metal unibody crafted out of aircraft-grade aluminum. The Galaxy S6 series uses Gorilla Glass 4 for both the display and the back of the device. Gone is the Qualcomm processor, replaced by Samsung’s own 64-bit Exynos octa-core processor. DDR3 RAM is replaced by Samsung’s faster DDR4 technology and for the Flash memory, available in 32/64/128GBs, they used their new UFS 2.0 design, which is also much faster. The cameras were upgraded in size, use a wider f/1.9 lens and can take Live HDR shots. The “All New Galaxy” is just what Samsung needed.
