Subor S3 Emerges Claiming to Be the First Smartphone With No Bezels

An emerging company from China called Subor, has a new phone to offer which they claim to be the first ever phone with a bezel-less display. A good way to start off would be by mentioning this smartphone dubbed the Subor S3, is targeting the mid range handset market. The phone itself is nothing majorly impressive on paper, but with claims of a bezel-less display in a smartphone the build quality of a device such as this deserves attention. There have been tests showing bezels acting as a structurally crucial component for strength and integrity. Most importantly, bezels in some cases have aided in prevention of screen shattering on side impacts. With rigid, flat displays the vulnerability is most apparent while a curved, flexible display could possibly give better results. Closer inspection of the renders shown on the company’s website do give the impression of what they must hope are, bezels small enough to go unnoticed.

As for specifications, as long as you are not comparing the Subor S3 with other flagship phones of 2015 are quite acceptable. Most importantly, the processor powering this smartphone will be the MT6732 quad core chip from Mediatek. For multitasking capabilities the smartphone manufacturing company is packaging the phone with 1 GB of RAM. While not a substantial amount of memory, for mid-range smartphone users it should be enough to accomplish most tasks. Internal storage capacity is listed as a meager 8 GB, however through microSD card expansion can increase by up to 64 GB. For photography, the Subor S3 provides users with an 8 megapixel shooter with an f/2.0 aperture. All of this will be featured on a 5 inch 720p display which while not full 1080p, could result in useful battery savings. Battery savings may be especially important in the design of the Subor S3, considering it is shipping with a 1700 mAh battery installed.

The Subor S3 is currently selling exclusively in China for an asking price of CNY 1399 which converts into approximately $225. The Subor S3 is not a flagship phone, and when measured as a mid-range phone stacks up quite decently. Head over to the Subor website by clicking on the source link below for more information.
