T-Mobile Upgrading a small group of Customers to Unlimited LTE Until the End of 2015 – For Free

T-Mobile USA has done some unique things to gain customers as well as keep their customers. The latest is the fact that they are upgrading a small percentage of customers to Unlimited LTE for free, until the end of 2015. This is according to T-Mobile’s webpage:

To thank you for being a loyal customer, some lines on your account are being upgraded to Unlimited 4G LTE data, starting April 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015–at no extra cost and with no action required! Surf, shop, and stream with no limits on our nationwide 4G LTE network.”

So you get about 9 months of unlimited LTE Data. Not bad at all, seeing as it’s completely free. Fierce Wireless stated that T-Mobile started notifying customers of this on March 10th via SMS. So if you didn’t get a SMS from T-Mobile about it, then you likely weren’t selected. On April 1st, their plan will automatically switch over to unlimited LTE for the remainder of 2015. If you are one of the lucky customers of T-Mobile to get unlimited LTE for the rest of this year, your data stash will go away (should come back in January 2016). Since Data Stash doesn’t work with unlimited plans – seeing as you are unlimited, you don’t need your data to roll over to the next month.

T-Mobile spoke with Fierce Wireless about this promo saying, “As you know we love to give our customers more value without asking more from them. So we selected a small percentage of our customers and upgraded them to Unlimited 4G LTE until the end of 2015 – on us.”

Now T-Mobile didn’t state what percentage of users that was, and we likely will never find out. But it’s still something that no other carrier is doing right now. Considering the only other one with unlimited data is Sprint anyways. If you’re one of the lucky T-Mobile USA customers to get the automatic upgrade to Unlimited LTE, be sure to let us know in the comments below. Also let us know how long you’ve been with T-Mobile, as I suspect this is for those that have been with the company for years and years.
