Verizon has said in the past that they don’t really care about prepaid as much, and focuses more on postpaid than anything. However, they have just added the very functional Moto E to their portfolio on the prepaid side. Motorola just announced the Moto E 2015 just a week before Mobile World Congress kicked off. The 4G LTE version is coming in at $149, although Verizon lists it at $199, and those looking to buy it, it’s $99. So not a bad price at all.
The Moto E 4G LTE features a 4.5-inch qHD display – that’s 960×540 – along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor that’s clocked at 1.2GHz. Motorola has also packed in 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage along with a microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB, and a 2390mAh battery inside powering it all. There’s also a 5MP camera on the back along with a VGA front-facing camera. It’s not the highest end smartphone, but it’s a pretty decent one for the price. I have one in hand that I’m working on the review of (its the GSM model, not the Verizon one though), and I’m pretty impressed with it, to say the least.
Verizon currently has the Moto E (2015) 4G LTE available on it’s site (check the source links below). You can grab your own today for just $99. Now since this is the CDMA version, it likely won’t work on T-Mobile or AT&T, like most of their postpaid smartphones would – as they are unlocked. So keep that in mind, if you’re looking to get the Moto E for $99 and put it on another carrier.
With the Moto E, I really think that Motorola has another hit on their hands. The Moto G (2013) was their best selling smartphone of all time, and the Moto E could easily top that. Especially if a lot of the major prepaid carriers pick it up. Like Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, Metro PCS, etc., although Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile have already picked it up. How many of you out there are considering picking up the Moto E 2015? Be sure to let us know your thoughts on it in the comments down below.
