'Wear What You Want' in Google's Latest Android Wear Ad

Google’s Android Wear platform was announced about a year ago, and subsequently the first generation products started rolling out in early summer 2014.  Since then the smartwatches powered by Android Wear have gone on to sell a fairly respectable number but there’s still lots of work to do.  For one many people don’t even know the platform exists or what it does, much less the watches powered by it.  There have been somewhere in the ballpark of a dozen smartwatches powered by Android Wear either launched and on sale now or coming out in the next few months.  This means that there’s not one single killer product, as there should never be in such an ecosystem.

Google’s latest Android Wear commercial highlights these differences and celebrates them as distinct and unique, giving customers the choice of various styles and shapes to choose from.  Unlike some competitors that only offer square watches, Android Wear is a platform built on the idea of delivering both square and round watches as it should be.  There’s of course plenty of style to choose from once you decide on a shape you’d like, from Sony’s sporty square Smartwatch 3 to Motorola’s sleek round Moto 360.  The choice is yours and the best part is that all Android Wear watches support interchangeable bands, some from the manufacturer themselves but most support a standard 22mm band, giving you true freedom to make the watch look how you want it.

There’s also thousands of interchangeable watch faces to choose from out there, with more being added to those numbers every single day.  This means you’ll never get bored of the way your watch face looks and you can customize exactly what you want to see at a glance, whether it just be the time or adding things like the date, weather, etc.  Then of course there’s also price to consider, with more expensive luxury brands entering the market like Tag Heuer and Fossil among others, you can always count on great deals like the Sony Smartwatch 3 selling for $199 right now with a $50 Google Play Credit.  Affordability, style and choice are the name of the game for Android Wear, and it’s any wonder there are so many new Android Wear watches coming out with all these things in tow.  Check out the commercial below!
