Yesterday saw T-Mobile announce their latest Uncarrier move in terms of a more straight up approach to business line plans. Well, following on from the Uncarrier announcement, T-Mobile have now launched a competition offering the winner(s) the chance to snag a full year’s worth of free service. The competition entitled “Ditch and Switch” is rather self-explanatory. T-Mobile is looking for you to ditch your current carrier and move over to them. However, they do not just want you to ditch your carrier. Instead, they also want you to dish the dirt on your carrier.
In fact, the rules of the competition are pretty simple. All you have to do is head over to the promo Facebook page (source link below), where you will be greeted by four big carrier name tabs (like in the image above). Click the one you are leaving, tell T-Mobile why you are leaving the chosen carrier and lastly, tell them why T-Mobile is so great. That is pretty much it. The competition is open now and runs until 11.59pm (PT) April 8th and winners will be advised on April 30th. Once you go through the motions of dishing the dirt on your carrier, you will then be presented with a short video for which you are encouraged to share on your various social media channels. As you would imagine, in a typical T-Mobile style, the video makes the point of why you are leaving your current carrier.
In terms of the actual prize, twenty lucky winners will each win one year’s worth of free service. This seems to be defined as a full year’s value of any of their Simple Choice plans ranging between $50-$80 per month. This means the total possible value the prize is $960. In short, if you are not already a T-Mobile customer and win, then you will be able to choose your plan and the amount (paid as a one-time credit) will be awarded to cover your plan selection. If you are already a T-Mobile customer, then the rate will be for your current plan. Although, it is noted, you can upgrade your account at the time of winning and still be covered.
