InFocus Launches First Android Smartphone in India

InFocus might be know for their projectors and imaging solutions in the US, but they’re launching their first Android smartphone in India this week. The M2 is not what you’d call a flagship device but considering its price tag of just RS 4,999 from Snapdeal, it’s no wonder the specs aren’t amazing. This is a 4.2-inch 1024 x 768 device running Android 4.4 KitKat, a MediaTek MT6582 and 1GB of RAM. You can take a look at the video below for a closer look.

Xiaomi’s Redmi 2 Launches in Singapore

Xiaomi has been slowly expanding throughout South East Asia, and Singapore has been one of their recent markets. Now, they’re bringing the Redmi 2 to the region. It’s launching for $169 Singapore Dollars and if you want more information you can read our review here. This is powered by a Snapdragon 410 and this isn’t the 2GB version with 16GB of storage. Instead, this is the standard 8GB and 1GB model, and there’s no telling whether or not Xiaomi will bring the new version to Singapore just yet.

NTT DoCoMo Launch 225mbps LTE in Japan

NTT DoCoMo is known as the Japanese network willing to do things a little differently, and if there’s anyone pushing the envelope of 4G LTE it’s NTT DoCoMo. Now, they’re rolling out superfast 225mbps LTE in Japan and while not everyone will be able to enjoy it, the promo videos to show off how quick it is are, entertaining to say the least. Towards the end of 2014, NTT DoCoMo expanded their LTE coverage thanks to new spectrum they had at their disposable, and now they’re combining this to offer speeds of up to 225mbps to customers. In order to show off this speed, they decided to cook some Gyoza as quickly as possible. The result is pretty funny and you can watch down below.

Punit Soni Talks Tough on Amazon India

Earlier this week, Punit Soni, who recently went to join Flipkart in India, had some choice words to say about Amazon’s strategy in India. He said that money simply isn’t enough for Amazon to be successful in India, and that only Flipkart understands the best mobile experience for shoppers. It was an interesting insight into where Soni sees the Indian market going over the next couple of years. You can read more on that from earlier in the week here.

Stick Cricket 2 Hits the Play Store

Just in time for the Cricket World Cup, Stick Cricket 2 is available to play on Android. It’s free to download from the Play Store as we speak, and it’s a big improvement over the original. Our Australian, Indian and British readers now have a decent cricket option to play on Android, and it might soften the blow for English fans who are still hurting after leaving the tournament. There’s a trailer below and you can download it here.
