Xiaomi to Announce New Special Edition Mi Note Tomorrow

Xiaomi has enjoyed a year of growth that’s been unparalleled in the smartphone industry, and that’s saying quite a bit.  Xiaomi may have started out with humble beginnings just a few years ago but now they are a massive Chinese manufacturer that’s working on eclipsing every manufacturer in every industry they enter.  At this point Xiaomi makes all sorts of electronics, not just smartphones, from TV’s to routers, fitness bands, earphones and even supposedly cars.  There seems to be no end to the possibilities that Xiaomi can reach and it all started with MIUI, the company’s extremely unique take on Google’s Android.

Fast forward to last year where Xiaomi released a record number of phones for the company, from the Redmi 1S to the Redmi Note and Redmi Note LTE, the Mi 4 and the Mi Pad 7.9.  Now in 2015 they’ve already released two phones, the Redmi 2 and the Mi Note, both phones that attempt to challenge any up-and-comers in the Chinese smartphone market.  Both of these phones cover the gamut of the smartphone spectrum, with the Redmi 2 pulling in the entry-level with its 799 Yuan ($125) price tag and the Mi Note covering those wanting a high end experience for 2300 Yuan ($370).  We found the Mi Note to be just as good as the rest of Xiaomi’s other phones in every category they compete in, which is to say some seriously top-of-the-line feeling hardware for a very low price.

Now Xiaomi’s co-founder, Lin Bin, has taken to Weibo to say that Xiaomi will be announcing a new special edition of the Mi Note tomorrow.  He briefly talked about how the phone has an aluminum frame, dual-pane glass on the front and back, and a slimmer design than even the iPhone 6 Plus.  He also went on to say that the user experience is superior to the iPhone 6 Plus and that his company’s latest announcement will be the best looking device the company has ever made.  With its tapered glass edges the Mi Note already stands out among the crowd and feels incredible in the hand, but what does the tech giant have up its sleeve for tomorrow?  We shall see!
