Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 To Feature Significantly Thinner Bezels Than Its Predecessor According To These Images

Xiaomi Redmi Note was one of the company’s most successful devices in 2014. This is a really affordable mid-range phablet which was announced back in March 2014. Everyone expects for the company to announce its successor considering it’s been a year since the Redmi Note was announced, and we still haven’t seen that many rumors or leaks, and the company haven’t officially teased the device thus far. Well, we do have a new leak to share with you now though.

A well-known leaker, @leaksfly, shared a couple of alleged Redmi Note 2 images on Twitter. As you can see, the handset does resemble the Redmi Note a whole lot, but it sports thinner bezels than its predecessor, significantly thinner actually. The original Redmi Note sported a 5.5-inch display, and this device might ship with an even bigger panel thanks to the thinner bezels and what not. We still don’t know this device’s specs, but it’s possible that Xiaomi decides to include a 5.7-inch display in there. Anyhow, the rumors say that the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor and that it will ship with 2GB of RAM. Android 4.4.4 KitKat will come pre-installed on this device with Xiaomi’s MIUI OS on top of Google’s operating system. The display is rumored to be 5.5 or 5.7-inches (OGS panel), and the resolution will be 720p or 1080p. Dual SIM connectivity will be implemented here, and a 13-megapixel camera will quite probably be included as well (perhaps even a 16-megapixel sensor). 4G LTE connectivity is also expected, and the battery will be somewhere between 3,300 and 4,000mAh, depending on which panel Xiaomi decides to use here.

The rumors also said that Xiaomi might include a fingerprint scanner here, but that’s highly unlikely. The Redmi Note is an affordable mid-range line, and unless Xiaomi intends to change that, we won’t be seeing anything as fancy as a fingerprint scanner included in the Redmi Note 2. NFC is a possibility though, we’ll see. If you’d like to check out the leaked images, take a look at the gallery down below, and make sure to let us if you like the design of the device or not.
