Best Buy Canada Starts Taking Pre-Orders For The HTC One M9

We know that the new HTC One M9 will be available in Canada on April 17 – just one week after the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge hit the streets.  Pre-Orders have already gone live on Videotron and it will also be sold on other carriers, like Rogers, Bell, Koodo, TELUS, SaskTel and WIND Mobile.  The pricing was also set at $199 on a two-year contract or $750 to purchase the One M9 outright.  If you can’t wait until April 17, you can go down to your local Best Buy and for $50 down you can pre-order the One M9 for Rogers, Bell and TELUS.  The Gunmetal Gray version is the only one currently available on Rogers and Bell, while TELUS will also sell the Gold on Silver version. Remember that there are 65 more Best Buys where you can place your orders since they bought out Future Stores.

The is no mistaking the new HTC One M9 – it has the same looks as the One M7 and One M8 – although it does have a few subtle changes.  The designers added a small ‘lip’ around the corner to increase your grip on your One M9, as the earlier models had a tendency to want to slip from your hands.  HTC also got rid of the Duo Camera so the back of the One M9 looks more like the One M7.

The new HTC One M9 comes with a 5-inch Super LCD3 display; however, it is still an FHD resolution with 1920 x 1080 pixels and 441 pixels-per-inch (PPI).  The processor is the new 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 with four cores clocked at 1.5GHz and four cores clocked at 2.0GHz.  The One M9 does have a full 3GB of RAM and 32GB with a microSD card for expansion of 128GB.  HTC really improved the camera area front and back with a new 20.7MP sensor for the main camera with autofocus and dual-tone flash (still no OIS) and they slapped a 4MP UltraPixel for the front-facing camera for great selfies and video chatting.  For power, they put in a 2840mAh non-removable battery. The One M9 retains the famous dual front-facing speakers with BoomSound, comes with an IR Blaster, stereo FM radio, and is running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
