A lot of Bluetooth speakers come across our desks here at Android Headlines. The one we’re talking about today is the first one that doesn’t have a battery inside. It’s also one of the biggest ones we’ve used in quite some time. It’s Fluance’s Fi30 Bluetooth Speaker. It comes in black, white and bamboo. The bamboo looks hot, but we do have the black on here. It is almost like glossy plastic, since you can see shadows and reflections in it. Which you’ll see in the pictures throughout the review.
It features dual full range drivers, finely tuned bass ports, and an integrated power amplifier to deliver some amazing audio. I’ve been using it for the past few weeks, and have been very pleased and impressed with the sound quality coming from this speaker. It’s not perfect, and the likes of Bose, Sennheiser, Klipsch and others can probably deliver even better sound, but for $149, this is pretty hard to beat. The bass is really great, especially if you listen to a lot of hip hop and rap music. As I write this review, I’m playing “Go Hard or Go Home” by Wiz Khalifa, which has some pretty decent bass in it, and it sounds great from the Fluance Fi30.
This speaker isn’t small, like I said earlier. it’s pretty large. There’s also no battery inside. So if you lose power or unplug it, it’s not going to work anymore. On the back of the speaker you do have a couple of ports. One being a USB port, so you are able to at least charge your phone at the same time as listening to music through Fluance’s latest Bluetooth Speaker. Actually, this is their first Bluetooth speaker. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack on the back, so you can plug in your phone or tablet, or even laptop, directly into the speaker. Which is a nice touch.
As far as Bluetooth goes, it’s always broadcasting. So no having to long press the Bluetooth button so your phone can find it. Which is a big deal for someone like me that has many devices, and has many devices passing through every week. Because it uses Bluetooth, you can connect virtually any smartphone, tablet, or laptop to your Fluance Fi30.
The Fluance Fi30 is a pretty decent Bluetooth speaker. The $149 price tag makes it almost an instant buy for a lot of people, and I can’t really blame them. It’s a great speaker, even though it’s not portable like a lot of these others we see each and everyday.
