Featured Review: Incipio DualPro Shine Case for the Samsung Galaxy S6

Incipio has a long line of cases that they are selling for the Samsung Galaxy S6. The DualPro Shine is very similar to the DualPro, in fact the biggest difference is the material used on the second layer of the case. On the DualPro you’ll notice it feels a bit more grippy, and more like soft-touch plastic or polycarbonate. The DualPro Shine is made to look like brushed metal and is actually a bit thinner and lighter. The DualPro Shine is available in 3 colors, black, smoky and white. Along with the black or gray TPU liner options.

As with the DualPro there are two layers here. The first layer is more like a flexible TPU material and goes against your Galaxy S6. This is to keep your device from getting scratches. Which is definitely a big deal considering the back of the Galaxy S6 is glass and that will get scratched up really easily. The second layer is a bit tougher, and can take a bit of impact. Although we didn’t try a drop test, I’m sure it works just fine for protecting your Galaxy S6.

We do have cut outs here. One on the back for the camera and flash module. As well as two at the top for the microphone hole and IR blaster, and assorted holes on the bottom for the speaker, microphone hole, micro USB port, and 3.5mm headphone jack. There is a bit of a lip on the front, which is to keep the screen from getting damaged if you drop your phone. However, this does make it a bit more difficult to use the fingerprint reader.  But not impossible. You just have to get used to unlocking the device at a different angle. Which isn’t a huge deal, just takes some getting used too. It only took me about a day to get used to it.

The DualPro Shine for the Samsung Galaxy S6 is available on both Incipio and Amazon’s sites for $35. Incipio cases are pretty sturdy and made of high-quality materials, so the higher price is definitely worth it in the end.
