Samsung to Showcase the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge at Harrods

The Galaxy S6 Edge, as pictured above, is one of the most anticipated smartphone launches of the year, and after a pretty disappointing year of declining sales throughout 2014, it’s no surprise Samsung is really pushing these new devices. Set to go on sale across the globe starting tomorrow, April 10th, the device has been on pre-order for some time now, and for those that need a little convincing on whether or not it’s the phone for them, Samsung has prepared something quite special for those in the UK. until April 24th, Samsung will take over two sides of the Harrods’ storefront, including large window displays that will face Brompton Road.

The promotion has been put together with Harrods, which officially opened the new Experience Innovation at Harrods which showcases how technology has changed over the years. Samsung will be displaying their latest and greatest devices, the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge, along with accessories and other products on Harrods’ second floor. Speaking of the partnership, Samsung UK’s head of marketing said that “Samsung knows that experience is the new form of luxury, and working with Harrods for this brand takeover was a fantastic way to capture the minds of shoppers. Cheil UK has delivered a campaign that brings the luxury and innovation of our technology to life in a way that speaks to the Harrods customer.” Being able to get hands-on experience with a device is much more powerful than purchasing something online, unseen and if there’s anyone that has the funds required to purchase high-value space like Harrods, it’s Samsung.

After a year of declining sales, 2015 is an important year for Samsung, and devices like the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will help drive sales for the first half of the year. Partnering with a prestigious name in retail like Harrods can only help Samsung, and we’re sure this weekend is going to be busy for Samsung. Those interested in pre-ordering the device can do so from all major networks in the UK.
