Sony has had a rocky road in many people’s minds. With a bi-annual (and that’s twice per year, to clarify) launch schedule for their Xperia Z family of devices. The Z3, which debuted at IFA last fall, featured some all-around great specifications, with a 5.2-inch 1080p Trilumonos display packed inside the classic glass-faced frame that marks many of Sony’s smartphones, as well as the Snapdragon 801, running at 2.5 GHz across its four cores backed by 3 gigabytes of RAM, 16GB of storage or 32GB in the official T-Mobile model, as well as the oft-mentioned Micro SD card slot. The Xperia Z4, however is still coming through the works to us end-consumers, so we’ve still just got leaks at the moment.
More photos of the device have recently popped up, or they are alleged to be of the device that Sony has yet to officially unveil. Courtesy of In2Mobile, we get to see some new angles of what is supposedly the Xperia Z4, this time in black. We do get to see one very helpful part of the phone, and that’s the settings menu where some of the system statistics are shown. We now have, if this is the same device from before on GFXBench, an alignment on the processor inside being a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, which is a 1.9 GHz, 64-bit octa-core powerhouse, as well as (judging by the Lollipop style nav buttons) Android 5.x Lollipop with Sony’s overlay on top.
The Image also lists the supposed model number for the device, which shows as E6553. Another image also shows the megapixel count of the camera on the back of the device and it looks like Sony may have used another 20.7 megapixel camera. In accordance with an listing from the FCC, there will likely also be a Micro SD card, as well as an IP68 waterproof and dust-tight rating. There could be a 3400 mAh battery inside the Xperia Z4’s svelte glassy body, giving it slightly more battery power than the Xperia Z3. Consumers can also probably expect a 5MP or higher camera on the front. So far nothing official from Sony has dropped in regards to concrete details.
