Sponsored App Review: Nero BackItUp – Photo Backup

Nero BackItUp is a complete backup solution for your Android smartphone or tablet. It gives 5GB of free storage to back up all of your photos, contacts, messages and more from multiple devices. You can choose to back up this data to one of Nero’s online servers, to an SD card inserted to your device or even to the corresponding desktop application over WiFi. This gives users a lot of flexibility when it comes to backing up their content, and it’s nice to see an established name like Nero offer users choices they wouldn’t get elsewhere. A way to backup more than just photos, on multiple devices, it looks like Nero BackItUp could be the option you’ve been looking for. Read on to see what we thought of it.

As with other Android apps, you’ll need to download Nero BackItUp from the Play Store. Then, you’ll need to set up and online account to backup online. This is free and will get you 5GB of free online storage.

Once you’ve signed up for an account, you can choose which information you want to back up.

Once done, all you need to do is hit the button to get the backup rolling and your information will be backed up online.

Once everything has been backed up, you can take a look at what has been updated, like your photos.

You can also take a look at different device backups from whichever phone or tablet you’re using.

Sadly, there’s no way to back up your apps and games, but there are a lot of settings you can tweak to adjust things.

You can easily choose where to backup to as well, for instance you can choose an SD card or even your PC.

The PC version looks pretty good, as well:

As backup solutions go, Nero BackItUp might not offer the ability to backup and restore apps and games, but when it comes to your personal information, this is a very flexible solution. You can backup to an external SD card, to the cloud or to a PC on the same WiFi network as your device. All of these make it nice and easy to keep on top of your important information. Getting everything going doesn’t take long, and there’s no need to jump through any hoops. It’s exactly the type of app that just works, and it offers users a simple, and secure way of backing things up. Nero is a trusted name when it comes to data, and it’s nice to see them offer such a modern and flexible solution. I do wish there were more than 5GB available for free, but this is about what the other choices offer and storage doesn’t grow on trees. With auto backup options and easy filters, there are few reasons not to give this a go.
