Sponsored Game Review: Digit Disorder

Digit Disorder is a Math game that’s a mix of wordsearch and puzzle games all mixed into one, while also testing your Math skills of course. Digit Disorder asks players to move the tiles that hold either an operation – like add, subtract or equals – or a number to a square in order to complete an equation. This then adds to your score and you must complete the level in either the allotted time limit or the allowed number of moves. It’s a game from the creators of Mathway, and can be a nice way of building kids’ confidence when it comes to Math as well as just a fun game for adults looking to keep their brains sharp. Read on as we take a closer look.

Downloading Digit Disorder doesn’t take long at all, and you can find it at the Google Play Store. Once downloaded and installed, you can start playing.

When you first start playing, there are helpful and easy to digest tips that help you learn how to play the game.

The general gameplay is pretty easy to grasp, but it’s important to pay attention to these opening hints.

When playing, the game looks and feels a lot like playing a wordsearch puzzle game but with numbers.

You can rearrange these equations however you want them, but it’s best to stick with those that you’ve already played, rather than pulling them apart. The value of the numbers doesn’t matter too much, it’s just important to match as many of them as you can.

At the end of a level you’ve completed, you’re congratulated on the fact and given a rating out of three stars.

Of course, some of the later levels aren’t as easy, and I find that the levels that give you a time limit are more tricky.

Obviously I’ve just played a little bit of the game, and I’m currently trying to tackle the tougher levels, but after just a while with the game and I can say that I’ve been looking at numbers differently and over time I bet I’ll be much quicker with small sums and sharper when it comes to Math in general. The game gets fairly difficult quite quickly, and over time it can pose a real challenge to even Math Whizzes.

While you might not think that a game based around math equations could be fun, Digit Disorder is a lot of fun, and there’s something to be said of a game that can subtly change how you look at numbers. My Math is pretty decent, it’s nothing compared to my English skills and such, but it’s passable. However, it takes me a little while to get going, after spending some time with Digit Disorder, I already find myself tackling equations much quicker and I really enjoy finding equations nice and quickly. I would like to see some more double-digit numbers earlier on, but the game is designed for players of all ages and it lives up to that quite nicely. As a game, this is good fun, especially if you like puzzle games in general, and if you’re not used to using numbers like this, Digit Disorder will make for a nice change of pace.

Pros

  • Nice, unique concept for a puzzle game.
  • Easy to get to grips with, yet difficult to master, especially as more operations and larger numbers appear.
  • Great game to help kids boost their confidence with their Math skills.
  • No need to spend lots of time learning rules or anything like that, it’s not that complicated to get started with.

Cons

  • Might be a little easy for those really quite good at Math, but the difficult does increase quite quickly.
  • Could feel like an educational game for some players.

All-in-all, Digit Disorder is a quality game that’s been put together with a lot of polish, and while it might not be for everyone, it definitely makes for a change of pace, and for younger players looking to boost their confidence and hone their skills, this is a fun way of sharpening their mind.
