Memorize is an Android game that asks you to memorize a sequence of button presses and then repeat it back to the game. It’s sort of like the classic Simon Says, but it’s put together with a fresh, flat design language that puts the focus on the fun and addictive gameplay. There are two difficulty settings, and the game will get steadily more and more challenging for those that do well. It’s got great integration with Google Play Games, including achievements as well as leaderboards, making it a game that you connect with others playing. Memorize is a classic game with classic gameplay, so let’s take a closer look and see what it’s all about.
As with other Android games, you’ll need to download Memorize from the Play Store. Then, you’re ready to get started.
You can change the difficulty here by hitting the brain with “Easy” written underneath it, but it’s best to start off on Easy when just getting started. The game neatly takes you through the process of how to play. Really, it’s quite simple, the computer will play a sequence and then it’ll be your turn to repeat that back in order to complete the level.
The first few sequences are quite easy, such as a 4×4 grid and a short sequence to remember.
These are fairly easy to remember, and at he end of every level, you’ll be congratulated for remember the sequence.
Things get more and more difficult however, with larger grids and longer sequences.
These sequences prove a little too difficult for me, and I’ve struggled to get past these.
You can of course see how your friends and other Android users are doing by taking a look at the game’s leaderboards.
There’s no denying that the core mechanic at the heart of Memorize is pretty simple, however there’s something devilishly addictive about having to test your brain like this. Plus, it’s one of the few games that practically anyone of any age can play. There’s no need to be a skilled gamer, have prior knowledge or anything of the sort in order to enjoy Memorize, you just start playing. Having said all that, those looking for something a little more involved might be looking for a game with more features and such. Of course, if you’re okay with something that’s simple and good fun for the whole family, then Memorize certainly won’t disappoint.
