When it comes to software updates for the next version of Android, T-Mobile has been a tad bit slower about things than some of the other carriers, although they have done their best to keep consumers and those who subscribe to the network services apprised of any information about the software update status of their device thanks to the software update page for compatible devices. While some of the smartphones on the page have already received the Lollipop update, some of them are still listed in manufacturer development, while others have been bumped up to T-mobile testing, with the last step obviously being that software update testing has been completed and is rolling out or has rolled out to the device.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is one of those devices that have yet to see the software update to Android 5.0 Lollipop, along with others like the Sony Xperia Z3, Sony Xperia Z1s, LG G3, and Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge. The good news for those who own the Galaxy Note 4 is that manufacturer development is now listed as having been completed and T-Mobile has moved on to now testing the software on the Galaxy Note internally. The only downside here is that T-Mobile makes no mention of when the update is to be expected for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, so it could be weeks or even a month before T-Mobile begins rolling it out to devices on the network.
Even though there is no hard date, “T-Mobile testing” is a status that likely means the software update is fairly close, and users who have the Galaxy Note 4 should keep an eye on their status bars for the software update notification from now through the coming weeks ahead, or of course check the status of the update manually from the settings menu whenever they feel the need. Lollipop on the Galaxy Note 4 brings in some visual changes to TouchWiz giving things a little bit more of a material design look, along with things like the lockscreen notifications, the heads up notifications when the screen is unlocked, and of course loads of lively animations throughout the system UI.
