T-Mobile Lollipop Testing Underway For The Galaxy Note 4 With Planned Roll Out For Next Week

When Google introduced Android Lollipop to the world towards the end of last year, it was known that it would make its way through the Nexus devices and the handful of smartphones and tablets running a near stock version of Android before it hit most major flagships from OEM’s. While devices like Samsung’s Galaxy S5 and the even the Galaxy Note 4 on some carriers have already gotten the update, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on T-Mobile hasn’t gotten it quite yet. Usually T-Mobile is a little faster about updates for the Android version software but with Lollipop some of the devices have been receiving it a little slower than those models on other carriers. Users are able to check the status of their updates via T-Mobile’s software update page, and navigating their today should point out that the Lollipop update for the Galaxy Note 4 is now in T-Mobile testing.

This milestone for the T-Mobile version of the Galaxy Note 4 was pointed out by T-Mobile’s senior product manager Des on Twitter earlier this morning, where he stated that the Lollipop software for the device had finally been approved and could move out of manufacture development and into the T-Mobile testing phase. This is good news for Galaxy Note 4 owners on T-Mobile, as they’ll finally be able to join other users in the latest version of Android along with Samsung’s most up to date TouchWiz UI which is vastly improved over the previous versions.

In addition to pointing out that T-Mobile is now testing the Galaxy Note 4 with Android Lollipop, Des also mentions that users should expect to see the software update rolling out to users starting next week. If T-Mobile is able to stick the time schedule they hope for, once the software update begins to hit devices it could take about a week or so before it reaches everyone. The update will bring in a number of new improvements and fixes to the software along with overall smoothness, and a more bold use of color and lively animations thanks to material design. Users will also be treated to the lockscreen notifications and the heads up notifications and plenty of other additions and improvements.
