For many of us, this may seem like a really easy task to get done. But where Samsung has always had a removable battery in their devices before the Galaxy S6, many Samsung users won’t know this little trick. So if your Galaxy S6 gets stuck in a bootloop or is unresponsive, instead of taking out your battery, there’s a much easier way to restart it. Which is what we are going to show you today.
Doing a hard reboot on your Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge is actually really easy to do. Simply press the Power and Volume Down keys together until you see it power off. Then let go. It’ll reboot and your problems should be all fixed. It can take as long as 30 seconds of holding Power and Volume Down together though, so keep that in mind. Much easier than pulling out the battery and sticking it back in.
This actually works for just about every Android device out there, even ones that have a removable battery. So this isn’t something that Samsung built into the Galaxy S6. While many might be used to pulling the battery – I remember doing that with Blackberries, several times a day, what a mess – just holding Power and Volume Down works just as well. So not having a removable battery isn’t the end of the world. Even though you can’t just swap out batteries, unfortunately.
