One of the beauties of the advancement of Android has been the coming of the quick settings menu, and Samsung has implemented a rather robust version of it within their own UI, offering users the option to toggle on/off and swap out a varied selection of different settings options to be accessible from the notification panel when you pull down from the status bar. In this how-to what we’ll be doing is showing you how to make the most of those quick settings that have been made available to you on your Samsung Galaxy S6 or Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge so you can use your device more efficiently.
To start, it helps to know where the quick settings toggles are. It’s OK if you don’t, and not to worry as they aren’t too difficult to spot. Once you know where they’re at, you’ll never forget. Simply drag down from the status bar to reveal your notification panel drop down, and at the very top just below the status bar is where you’ll find all the active/inactive quick settings which are available by default. The screen allows for a viewing of five total from the start, but with a simple swipe to the left of the screen as you drag across the quick settings bar you’ll see the remaining five quick settings which are sort of hidden from view. You can easily tap each of these toggles to turn on or off various settings of the phone such as Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, WiFi and others. The best part is there are more which you can swap out to suit your personal needs and they can be ordered into any fashion you wish.
Start by dragging down the notification panel like you were going to toggle any of the quick settings on or off, but instead of tapping one of those toggle buttons, tap the little pencil icon just above them which takes you to the quick settings “edit screen.” Here you’ll be shown the remainder of the quick settings toggles which weren’t visible before, and you can drag and drop the ones you want to use and have access to into the little box towards the top of the screen. This box shows up as a lighter shade of blue so you can’t miss it. Those below the box will be removed from the quick settings bar going forward. Once you have the quick settings you want in the order you want, just tap “done” and everything will be saved according to your specifications. Simple and quick.
