When a new Android smartphone is launched there are a lot of case options available to keep your device protected. However, not everyone is in the mood or market for something fairly expensive or super-duper amazing. Which is why it’s nice to see cases like this from Olixar available. This is the FlexiShield case for the HTC One M9, sent to us by MobileFun, and it’s a nice, light blue color. At £5.99, it’s an inexpensive option that gets the job done, but is there more to it than that?
This is a classic case that doesn’t offer too much in the way of protection, really. We’re looking at a simple TPU style of case, and despite being so inexpensive, the cutouts are all in the right place. Everything is neatly aligned and it’s a decent, snug fit as well. The cutout for the IR blaster at the top of the M9 is especially nice, and there’s a sizable lip giving your screen some clearance from whichever surface you place it on when face down. Things start to fall apart however, when we start talking about the buttons on the side of the device. They’re very large and quite stiff, making it somewhat difficult to actually push the button underneath, but they do work and it’s perhaps a matter of just getting used to them.
The case is also available in black, white and purple from MobileFun and similar cases can be found on Amazon in the US for very little. Ultimately, you get what you pay for, this is definitely a cut above the cheap, cheap cases that can be found on eBay and in some cases doesn’t cost that much more. It’s not going to be for everyone, but it’s a nice option compared to more expensive cases that offer little more in the way of protection. Plus, if you’re a fan of bright colors, now’s the time to get a bright case for your phone, right?
