Shopping for a new car? You definitely want to be sure you get a good one right? Let’s face it, you’re going to be keeping that car for a few years, definitely longer than you keep your smartphone. There are plenty of apps out there to help make sure you get a good car, whether it’s a new or a used car. Let’s check out some of those.
CARFAX Reports
This is a must have app, actually it’s more of a must have service. Most dealers will provide a CARFAX report for free, especially on used cars. But always ask for one. It shows you if the car has gotten it’s regular maintenance, as well as any defects and even accidents. Which is very important when buying a used car.
cPro Craigslist Pro Client
Craigstlist doesn’t have an official app yet. But Craigslist is still a great place to go and look for a used car. You’ll usually get a cheaper price then going through a dealer, but you also risk getting a crap car. Which is another reason why CARFAX is a very important service to be using.
Cars.com
A great place to start looking for a car. Many dealers as well as private sellers aka individuals, list their cars on cars.com. Their app is pretty robust as well. As you can search by year, make, model, mileage, location and so much more. It’s a well designed app, which you don’t find too often with car shopping apps.
Carmax
CarMax is similar to Cars.com, but perhaps maybe not as popular. With CarMax you can also search for cars that are for sale nearby. Additionally, you can see pictures of the cars that are listed, which is important too, as you want to be sure the car you’re looking to buy is in good shape.
Car Buying
This app is brought to you by KBB, which in of itself is a great tool for buying a new car. As you can see what the value of cars should be. This app will help you find cars nearby that are up for sale, as well as show you exactly where on a map they are located. Always important.
Auto Trader
You may have heard of Auto Trader from ads on TV. Auto Trader is another popular car shopping app. Although they mostly only show you cars for sale by dealers. Which means you might not always get the best price. It’s a great app, and is actually material design. So it has that going for it.
Edmunds Car Reviews
Always important to do your homework before buying a car. As some models are prone to having tons of problems. And checking out Edmunds Car Reviews is a good way to get out of buying a car that is prone to having all kinds of issues.
CarWale
CarWale allows you to search for cars in your area that are for sale, as well as compare them to other cars. Compare things like the features, gas mileage and much more. Another important tool when shopping for a car.
Car Buying Guide
This app is built by Consumer Reports, and it will help you find the perfect car for you. It includes Consumer Reports ratings, video summaries and much more information. In-app purchases are available but limited to just $2.99. Which is more than worth it.
KBB.com
This app by Kelly Blue Book just gives you the Blue Book value of each car model. It’s an important tool because it helps you see if you’re getting a good deal or not from the dealer. That’s always important. Don’t want to overpay for a used car.
