Along with the Xiaomi Mi 4i, we also got our hands on the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro today. Which is Xiaomi’s ultimate high-end device. There was the Mi Note, which we looked at earlier this year, and also reviewed. This is the higher-end version of that. For those unaware, it features a 5.7-inch QHD display, which boasts a 515 PPI, there’s also a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor inside paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage – there’s no 16GB or 32GB variant here. On the camera side there’s a 13MP Sony IMX214 sensor on the back, and a 4MP front-facing camera which has a f/2.0 aperture. Needless to say, it has all the high-end specs you could ever want, and then some!
On the outside the Mi Note Pro feels much like the Mi Note, it also looks just like it aside from the gold trim. The back is curved glass, what Xiaomi calls 3D glass, it’s almost like the front of the Galaxy S6 Edge, but on the back of the Mi Note Pro. It is a 5.7-inch display, so it’s not exactly a small device. It is running Android 5.0 Lollipop with MIUI 6 on top of that. The software runs pretty smooth and quick from our quick hands on time with it. We do have one in hand and will be doing much more with it over the next few weeks. Remember it does have a Snapdragon 810 inside, so we might have some issues with heat. But so far, no issues to report.
It comes with about 58GB of storage out of the box. The other 6GB of space is used for the system to keep the phone running, obviously. While we’d love to have access to all 64GB, that’s never going to happen. But 58GB is still plenty for most people, at least that’s what we think.
