Gionee M5 To Feature Two Battery Units On The Inside

We’ve been talking about Gionee quite frequently as of late. The company has been rather active as far as marketing goes, they’ve been releasing bits and pieces of their upcoming devices all over social media lately. This China-based company has released their Elife S7 handset during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona back in March, and they will announce their new Elife E8 flagship next month. Interesting enough, we’re not here to talk about either of those handsets, but a new device that popped up online quite recently, the Gionee M5.

This device will reportedly be a direct successor to the Marathon M3 device, which means that you can expect it to sport great battery life. The Marathon M2 sported a 4,200mAh unit, while a Marathon M3 shipped with a 5,000mAh battery on the inside. Well, the company has now released an official teaser regarding the upcoming M5 handset, and it seems like Gionee plans to pack two batteries on the inside of that device. How will this work? Well, according to the available information, the phone will be able to function using only one battery, while the other one is being charged. If you take a look at the provided image / official teaser, you’ll notice that Gionee is quite obviously suggesting that this phone will ship with two battery pack laying on the inside.

Unfortunately, we still don’t have any spec information when it comes to the Gionee M5, but both the M2 and Marathon M3 were mid-range offering by the company, so this one will quite probably belong in that very same category. Both the M2 and Marathon M3 sported a 5-inch display, so this handset might as well, unless the company decided to go a different direction this time around. You can also expect this thing to sport 1 or 2GB of RAM on the inside, and a rather affordable price point. Either way, we’ll let you know if we stumble upon any additional info regarding the Gionee M5, but the main Gionee-branded device to pay attention in the near future is the company’s flagship Elife E8 smartphone which will launch next month.
