Gionee has announced the Elife S7 device during the Mobile World Congress back in March, and are about to announce two new devices soon. This Chinese smartphone manufacturer is preparing to launch their Elife E8 flagship, and the M5 handset which will feature the dual-battery setup. Both of these handsets have already been certified, the Elife E8 has paid a visit to TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) a while back, and the M5 was certified quite recently actually.
That being said, a new images popped up online, showing off Gionee’s upcoming Elife E8 flagship next to their already announced Elife S7 handset. If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll notice the camera, flash, speaker grill and the fingerprint scanner on the back of the Elife E8. The design of this handset goes hand-in-hand to what we’ve seen thus far, at least from the back. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see the front of the device this time around, but we’ve already seen it before, so it’s not exactly a mystery at this point.
According to TENAA‘s listing, the Elife E8 will feature a 6-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. This handset will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6795 64-bit octa-core processor running at 1.9GHz and the PowerVR Rogue G6200 GPU will be in charge of graphics rendering. The 23-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this handset and will allegedly be able to take 100-megapixel images. The 8-megapixels snapper will be available up front, Android 5.0 Lollipop will come pre-installed here with Gionee’s skin on top of it.
We still don’t know when will this handset launch exactly, but we do know it will happen next month (June). We’ll let you know as soon as Gionee releases the exact date of the announcement, so stay tuned for that. All in all, it seems like Gionee Elife E8 will be one of the more powerful devices on the market, and the ability to take 100-megapixel images will definitely come in handy when it comes the time to market this product.
