Huawei About To Launch Entry-Level Smartphones Honor 4C and Honor Bee In India

Huawei launched the entry level Honor 4C just a few days ago in China for Yuan 799. As a sign of the growing importance of the Indian market to Huawei, it is now reported to be just days away from officially launching the device in India within days of its launch in their home country. The company also plans to launch another even cheaper device in India alongside the Honor 4C, dubbed the Honor Bee.

As for the specifications of the two devices, the Honor 4C comes with a 5-inch 1280 x 720 HD display and is powered by a 64-bit HiSilicon Kirin 620 SoC manufactured in-house by Huawei. The Octa-core processor is clocked at 1.2 GHz and the device comes with 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card. The primary camera on the rear of the device comes with a 13 megapixel sensor with auto-focus and LED flash. It is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30 fps. The front of the phone has a 5 megapixel camera with video recording capped at 720p. The device has dual SIM support and comes with LTE connectivity. The Honor Bee meanwhile is an even more affordable smartphone that’s powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. The device comes with a 4.5-inch screen that has an 854 x 480 (FWVGA) resolution. The device does not support 4G, but comes only with 3G HSPA+ connectivity and has dual SIM support. The one disappointing aspect of both these devices is that both of them run on Android 4.4 KitKat and not on Android Lollipop. There’s no word thus far from Huawei as to when they plan to upgrade the phones to Lollipop – if ever. We’ll have to wait for Huawei to officially launch these devices to get an idea about Huawei’s plans to roll out the Lollipop update.

While these devices have still not been officially launched, most reports claim that the Honor 4C will be priced at Rs. 8,999 ($145), while the Honor Bee is expected to be priced at Rs. 4,999 ($80). Huawei has also launched some accessories along with these two handsets, like the Honor AP007 13000mAh power bank, that comes with a price of Rs. 1,394 ($22).
