iBall Announces Slide 3G i80 Mid-Range Tablet; 8" 720p Display And Intel SoC In Tow

iBall is an India-based smartphone OEM which constantly releases mid-range smartphones and tablets. The last notable tablet release by iBall was the Slide Stellar A2 unit which was released at the end of last month. That tablet offers 4G LTE connectivity and a solid spec sheet, considering the price of course. Well, iBall is back with yet another tablet, the Slide 3G i80. This is also a mid-range offering by the company and it is slightly more affordable than the aforementioned Slide Stellar A2 device. Anyhow, let’s see what this device has to offer, shall we.

The iBall Slide 3G i80 comes sporting an 8-inch 1280 x 800 IPS display along with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage (expandable via microSD card up to 32GB). Intel’s Atom Z3735F quad-core processor clocked at 1.33GHz (burst up to 1.86GHz) is powering on this device and a 4,400mAh battery is also a part of this package. The 5-megapixel camera is located on the back of this tablet, and a 2-megapixel shooter is available on its front side. This handset offers 3G connectivity, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB OTG are also a part of this package. This tablet is, of course, Android-powered, but we don’t know which version of Android is it running at this moment. Android 4.4 KitKat is the most probable version pre-installed on this thing though.

“We take pride in presenting our first Android based Tablet on Intel platform. Intel is undisputedly most powerful processor and its X86 architecture makes it stand apart. We are sure iBall 3G-i80 with Intel processor and power packed with very exciting specifications will be well liked by every user. It will surely deliver terrific performance,” said Sandeep Parasrampuria, Director at iBall. The Director of Business Development at Intel South Asia, Amit Gupta, added the following: “We would like to congratulate iBall on the launch of its new Intel® Processor powered tablet. The new iBall tablet powered by the Intel® Atomâ„¢ Processors will not only provide an ideal balance of performance and battery life but will also deliver a great value for money proposition to its users”. There you have it, the iBall Slide 3G i80 will set you back Rs. 10,499 ($165) in case you intend to purchase it, and it will be available across India really soon.
