Samsung not so long ago, unveiled the Galaxy Note 4, a device that is still to this day acclaimed for many of its great features and specs. The Galaxy Note 4 has up to now, successfully competed with flagship devices from other manufacturers and still finishes on top.. But even if there are no signs of the Galaxy Note 4 needing a successor, new information has leaked, hinting towards the next Galaxy Note phablet. This information was brought to light from the HTML5test website, in which devices are tested on HTML5 support. The test itself is not what is astonishing, what should be more interesting is that not only does the Galaxy Note 5 appear to already exist, but it’s seemingly already in the device testing phase.
Some information about the Galaxy Note 5 has already been leaked a few days ago, in which it was revealed that the upcoming member of the Galaxy Note lineup will boast a 4K display panel and will be powered by an Exynos 7422, which is made by Samsung itself. It was already expected that Samsung would include one of its own processors inside the new Galaxy Note 5, as the company recently ditched the Qualcomm-made Snapdragon processor to feature the powerful Exynos 7420 processor inside both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Something that’s unique about the new Exynos 7422 that will be included in the Galaxy Note 5 is that it not only serves as the processor, it also includes CPU, GPU, RAM, a Samsung LTE modem, along with built in storage.
The release of the next Galaxy Note is not something new, as the company has maintained a yearly schedule for unveiling its flagship devices. The new leak, however, has shown that the Galaxy Note 5 is not coming by itself but with an Edge variant. This would be the third Edge device from Samsung and it confirms that Edge devices are here to stay. The leaked HTML5test was performed on the Samsung browser 3.2 on a Samsung ZenZero, which according to several reports, is the internal name of the Galaxy Note 5 Edge. Test results gave the Galaxy Note 5 Edge a score of 520, a really good score when compared to other devices.
