Meizu is a really interesting company which managed to grow a whole lot in the last year or so. This China-based smartphone OEM has released a number of solid smartphones back in 2014 and has also managed to price them just right. The MX4, MX4 Pro and M1 Note were the company’s offerings last year, and they have also released the M1 handset back in January. We haven’t heard from Meizu in a while, not even rumors, and a couple of days ago the silence ended. A number of Meizu-related rumors started popping up, and even though we’ve covered all of them, here’s a little roundup for you of the rumors we’ve seen in the last couple of days.
Alright, let’s start from the beginning. The first date that has been mentioned in those rumors is May 18, and according to the provided info, Meizu plans to announce the Avengers-themed MX4 and M1 Note handsets at the even on said date. We’ve seen the Meizu M1 Note leak with the Avengers logo on the back, it remains to be seen how accurate is that info though. Moving on to Meizu M2 Note which has also been mentioned quite recently. The rumors have mentioned that the phone will be made out of metal this time around, not plastic, and that a fingerprint scanner might also be a part of the picture here. As far as Meizu’s upcoming flagship goes, the MX5, the rumors are saying that it will launch on June 30th. This handset is rumored to sport a fingerprint scanner and will be made out of metal as well according to rumors, which we could expect considering the MX4 also offers premium build.
Considering the fact that MediaTek invested in Meizu quite recently, it is not only likely, but quite probable, that Meizu’s upcoming devices will be powered by MediaTek’s chips. There you have it folks, Meizu has quite a few devices to show us before the year’s end, so stay tuned for that, we’ll report back as soon as we managed to acquire some additional info about either of the aforementioned devices.
