The name ‘Meizu’ has been popping up quite often in the last couple of weeks. This China-based smartphone OEM has received a couple of investments lately, and they’ve also announced that they’ll hold an event in China on June 2nd. Meizu has released a number of teasers thus far, and it seems like they plan to announce more than one product at said event. A number of leaks and rumors have been suggesting that they plan to announce the M1 Note’s successor at the event, but it seems like that’s not the only thing Meizu will announce. The company has hinted at a number of other smart products in their latest teasers, so who knows.
Anyhow, we’ve seen a couple of Meizu M2 Note teasers lately, and today we have yet another one to share with you. First and foremost, according to some rumors from China, this handset will be called ‘M1 Note 2’ and not the ‘M2 Note’, which seems a bit odd, but we’ll see. That being said, if you take a look at the provided image, you’ll notice the alleged M1 Note’s successor. This will be a mid-range offering by the company, as was its predecessor, but it seems like Meizu might change some things in terms of its design. Looking at the provided image, you’ll notice that the power button is located on the left side of the device, and placed under the volume rocker. Now, the question remains, is this the upcoming M2 Note / M1 Note 2 at all, or is it a completely new device? Well, we’ll find out in about a week, until then, we can only sit tight and wait for more leaked images.
What else do we know about this device? Well, it will sport a physical home button below the display, that much has been confirmed by the company’s VP, Li Nan. He has also confirmed that this handset won’t sport a fingerprint scanner, which was to be expected. This handset will be made out of plastic, offer 4G LTE connectivity, and according to some leaks, the handset will ship sporting 2GB of RAM and will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor.
