Micromax is the biggest India-based smartphone manufacturer. This company releases a lot of smartphones per year, but mainly focuses on the affordable mid-range units. It’s kind of hard to release a ton of different handsets per year, especially when you release as many as Micromax does, the company is certainly trying to do that, at least to some extent. This India-based company has released the Doodle 3 A102 handset last year, and is planning to release its successor soon, at least according to Mahesh Telecom.
By the looks of it, the Micromax Canvas Doodle 4 Q391 will be a mid-range phablet which will feature a stylus pen as well, which is not something we can say for other devices Micromax has released this year. Anyhow, according to Mahesh Telecom, this thing will feature a 6-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass protection on top of it. 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage will also be available, and you’ll be able to expand the built-in storage via a microSD card up to 32GB. This device will be powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz (manufacturer is still unknown, but we’re guessing this is MediaTek’s SoC), and a 3,000mAh battery will also be a part of the package. The 8-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this handset, and a 2-megapixel shooter will be available up front. This is a dual SIM device which will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed, and won’t offer 4G LTE connectivity, only 3G speeds.
Micromax didn’t officially announced this handset (though they did tease its announcement), but Mahesh Telecom’s info is basically always spot on. According to the carrier, the Micromax Canvas Doodle 4 Q391 will cost Rs. 9,199 in India, and will be officially announced in a couple of days. Another thing worth mentioning here is that the device is already listed on eBay.in, so if you’re interested… take a look. This phablet is definitely not for everyone, mainly because of its size, but if you’re looking for a huge and affordable device which ships with a stylus, this is certainly one of the few options available out there.
