A number of smartphone manufacturers have already unveiled their flagship offerings for this year, and Samsung is one of them. This Korea-based tech giant has announced their Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge flagships back in March during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The two devices are available all over the world for quite some time now, and the company has even released the Limited Edition Iron Man Galaxy S6 Edge handset in Korea already.
That being said, Samsung tends to release a number of subversion of their Galaxy S flagships every year, ‘Active’ and ‘Mini’ for example. Well, a new variant of the Galaxy S6 (SM-G929F) has popped up on Zauba, Indian import / export website. The phone is listed as a ‘sample Samsung mobile phone set’, and the phone has been imported to India for testing purposes. Unfortunately, we don’t know what will this device be called in the end, nor which Galaxy S6 variant are we looking at. It is possible that this is the regular Galaxy S6 for a specific market, but it’s also likely that we’re looking at one of the subversion of the device here.
The regular Galaxy S6 offers high-end build and specs, both the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge actually offer metal unibody build, something that is not characteristic for this Korean smartphone OEM. The Galaxy S6 sports a 5.2-inch QHD Super AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM and multiple storage variants. The device is powered by Samsung’s very own Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core SoC and it ships with Android 5.0.2 pre-installed with the company’s TouchWiz UI on top of it.
