ZTE is one of the largest Chinese manufacturers of smartphones and mobile devices and at the beginning of the year they changed their logo to mirror a change on their strategy to try to expand their brand worldwide. They recently released the much-leaked flagship known as Nubia Z9 and it was a very successful launch as it was sold out in 10 minutes in the company’s home country. It includes some of the best tech specs you could find in a phone right now, including a Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB or 4GB of RAM, a 5.2-inch Full HD screen. The cameras include 16-megapixel one in the back with OIS and an 8-megpixel one in the front. It is an expensive device, unlike some others that come from China, but still the hardware looks good enough and is built with a metal frame and glass on front and back of the device.
Now a new render of a ZTE device has surfaced in the most famous Chinese social network, Weibo, and its looks make it seem like a flagship device. The logo on the back doesn’t quite match the one that was recently unveiled, so maybe the leaks should not be trusted, also, it doesn’t carry the Nubia branding, so it doesn’t seem to be a successor or a different version of the aforementioned device. So how much better can this device get? We will have to wait a little more to find out if this is indeed a new flagship or a mid-range device with very good looks. The picture suggests that the new device will be built on a unibody piece of metal with chamfered edges, some lines of polycarbonate can be seen to make sure the antennas work properly as well as what looks like glass in the upper section.
The camera seems to be a little raised from the back plate and there seems to be a dual LED flash although it doesn’t seem to be dual-toned. On the right side, there are keys for changing the volume and for locking and unlocking the device. The front of the device is almost entirely occupied by the screen, the side bezels are almost non-existent and the ones in the top and bottom are not that big either. The glass seems to be subtlety curved just like in the Nubia Z9.
