Original Moto G Now Receiving Android 5.0.2 Update

As the days go on, so does the continued rollout of Android 5.0 (Lollipop) to various devices. By now, the list of updated devices is becoming quite substantial with a lot of the major devices all seeing their updates arrive. One of the manufacturers who have both been prevalent in updating, but also endured a turbulent update period is Motorola. They were very quick to first start pushing out updates last year when Lolipop was first released, but since then, their updating has become quite sporadic. Take the Original Moto G for instance.

Although the Moto G might not be thought of, as an ‘essential update’ device, it is still one that has been getting the update. However, its update process has been extremely staggered. The news of the Moto G began all the way back in January when it was noted that the first and second generation Moto G were both starting their soak testing in India. As such, the commencement of Lollipop to the original Moto G seemed imminent. And it was for Canada, as they began noticing their update arriving back in February. This was then followed by the original Moto G in the UK seeing its update arrive in March. Well, it is now May and finally it seems the original Moto G is receiving its update in the U.S.

Motorola have confirmed that the Moto G (first gen) in the U.S. has now begun receiving its update to Lollipop. As such, if you own the original Moto G, you should be able to head over to your settings, About Phone, and System Updates and push the update through. Once installed, the update will bring your Moto G device straight to Android 5.0.2. The changelog on what is on offer is quite extensive and will bring all the typical and widely reported Lollipop features to your device.
