It can be little argued with that the latest Samsung flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is one of the most popular smartphones of this year. In fact, the only device which seems to be more popular than the Galaxy S6, is the partner launch device, the Galaxy S6 Edge. It seems that the double edges of the S6 Edge has really caught everyone’s attention. Either way, the two S6 devices are certainly the most sought after devices currently on the market. That said, they are not the only Galaxy S6 devices that will be available.
It has long been known that Samsung are planning to continue their Galaxy S trend of releasing an ‘Active’ version of their latest flagship device. The currently expected Active variant, aptly dubbed the Galaxy S6 Active has yet to be fully and finally unveiled, however, that has not stopped the rumors and speculation from mounting. Since the March 1st release of the twin S6 devices, there has been a number of rumors and reports coming through. These have included the so-called ‘confirmed specs‘ of the S6 Active variant, not to mention, the belief that AT&T will be first in line in the U.S. for the Active version. The User Agent profile for the S6 Active has also reportedly been spotted, not to mention, the device has been noted on an inventory list which again seems to confirm an AT&T destination.
That said, what has been lacking in the speculation department is a firm image. Well, if the latest news and image is to be believed then there are now eyes on the S6 Active. The images shown above was provided to GSM Arena by an unnamed source who states that this is the Galaxy S6 Active. As the image shows, this is certainly going to be a well-protected device compared to the standard S6 and S6 Edge. The source of the images is also noted stating that the Active version will come with an increased 3,500mAh battery and will be sporting the model number SM-G890A. In fact, to add some authority to the source, the model number quoted is one which has been rumored before and again has been largely associated with AT&T. Of course, the image should be taken firmly as a ‘rumored’ image for now. Either way though, it is good to see possible images now starting to surface.
