Samsung has already revealed the company’s new flagship offerings for this year, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. This Korean tech giant will unveil yet another premium handset later in the year, the Galaxy Note 5. While we wait for that announcement, the company seems to prepare some mid-range smartphones to push our way. The Galaxy J5 and J7 user agent profiles were spotted earlier this month, and now both of these handsets have popped up in China. The devices were certified by TENAA, China’s equivalent to the FCC. According to the listing, these two devices will launch on China Mobile, let’s see what they have to offer.
It seems like both of these devices will be made out of plastic. The Galaxy J5 features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) TFT display along with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 64GB). This handset will be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, we still don’t know who will manufacture the SoC though. The 8-megapixel camera (CMOS sensor) will be located on the back of this handset, and a 5-megapixel shooter will be available up front. Android 5.0.2 Lollipop will come pre-installed here with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI which will ship on top of Google’s operating system. The Galaxy J5 will measure 142 x 73 x 8.5mm and weight 149 grams. 4G LTE support will also be a part of this package, of course.
The Galaxy J7 will be somewhat bigger than its brother, this handset sports a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) TFT panel. The Galaxy J7 will also ship with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). This handset will be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz, and 4G LTE connectivity will be available here as well. It seems like this handset will offer the same 8 and 5-megapixel cameras as the Galaxy J5, and Android 5.0.2 will also come pre-installed here with Samsung’s UI on top of it. As already mentioned, this handset will be somewhat bigger than the Galaxy J5, ti will measure 152.4 x 79.2 x 7.9mm and weight 170 grams.
