The LG G4 Is Now Available In The UK Via Multiple Outlets

LG launched its fourth generation flagship smartphone, the LG G4 last month and it is already available to purchase in many important markets around the world. In the UK, the device can be purchased from multiple online resellers including Carphone Warehouse, BuyMobiles, Clove and Mobiles.co.uk. While carriers like O2 has made the handset available from its website, and Three has said that it will offer the handset from Friday, there’s no word from Vodafone and EE as to when they’ll be offering the phone on their networks. As of Thursday, Giffgaff seems to be the only MVNO that has officially announced the launch of the device on its network.

The pricing listed on Giffgaff’s site is £519 without contract on a pay-as-you-go basis, or contractually, on a plan of £22.62 per month with a £25 upfront payment. However, the handset is listed as “out of stock” currently on the carrier’s online site. Only Carphone Warehouse, Amazon and Unlocked Mobiles thus far are offering unlocked versions of the phone. Amazon and Carphone Warehouse have both priced the unlocked leather-clad editions at £520, whereas Unlocked Mobiles lists a non-leather version for £500. Clove meanwhile, has listed unlocked G4 handsets in two different colors (Grey and Gold) for £490. The online retailer is also offering the brown leather variant for £510.

As a refresher, the LG G4 features a curved 5.5 inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) display panel. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core SoC and sports 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. There’s a 16MP rear camera on the device, which comes with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Laser Auto-Focus and an f/1.8 aperture. The selfie-cam on the front, meanwhile, has a large 8MP sensor, keeping with the modern trend of selfie-cams with large sensors. The front camera is also capable of recoding 1080p Full HD videos at 30 fps. The battery is removable and is rated at 3,000 mAh. Connectivity options include WI-FI 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and Cat.6 LTE. LG has also included an IR blaster, which allows the user to use the smartphone as a remote control. The LG G4 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with LG’s proprietary Optimus UI laid on top.
