Top Android Homescreen May 24th: Mountiles

Another week and another new homescreen design for all the customization lovers out there. This week we’ve got a design called Mountiles which comes to us from 21Marco12, and it carries a rather clean looking design with just a slight bit of color to make things seem more lively. Just like with every other homescreen we focus on, we’ll give you the rundown on what you need to recreate this design for your own device as well as give you the basics of how to set it up.

First things first, go ahead and grab all the necessary apps you’ll need before you can get started with setting up the design. Nova Launcher Prime will be the third party launcher of choice, and you’ll also need Zooper Widgets Pro, and Media Utilities, as well as the actual Zooper Widgets skins, which you can pick up from the Play Store here. After you have everything installed, the first thing you’ll need to do is open up the Nova settings and configure your homescreen grid. Make sure your desktop grid is set to 10 x 6 with no margins at all. Next, make sure to disable the dock as well as the “show shadow” feature and hide the status bar. (notification bar)

From here things are relatively simple. Make sure you have two homescreen pages set up as there will be two widget skins you’ll be placing on the screen. Simply long press on each homescreen page, select add widget, scroll to select Zooper Pro, then place any size widget as you’ll just be resizing it later to the 10 x 6 size. Select the appropriate ‘Mountiles’ Zooper Widget and resize to fit the screen. For configuring Media Utilities, open up the app and head into the settings menu, select the integration with Zooper Widget option, select cover art available, and select song progress. That’s it! You should now have the Mountiles design set up on your device. If you like this design be sure to show your appreciation for the creator’s hard work by hitting the love button over at mycolorscreen, and as always, enjoy the rest of your weekend and happy theming!
