Google Chromebooks have become increasingly popular for students and educational institutes. For practically a fraction of the price of a Windows laptop, consumers can get a great device to carry around for word processing and internet browsing. We’ve come to understand that Google has released two new Chromebooks within India which came through two OEM or original equipment manufacturer. Additionally, it would seem that India will be receiving other Chromebooks within their markets that could make a wide range of devices to choose from.
The Google Chromebook comes in the fashion of a MacBook Air. They are thin, light and come in a small form factor which makes for an absolutely perfect machine to take along with during various classes or projects. What sets these devices apart from something like a standard laptop is that they run a special Chrome operating system that is based on the Linux kernel. Google developed the Chromebook to be connected online in which the device can access a wide variety of online applications and because the OS is stored through an SSD or flash based drive, everything should run incredibly fast.
Xolo and Nexian have both released their own variation of the Google Chromebook and both offer around the same price point which is $212 to $220 (13,499 INR to 13,999 INR). Furthermore the Xolo and Nexian Google Chromebook runs on a RockChip SoC making them fairly the same. Consumers will find that the devices will feature an 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768, 16 GB of internal hard drive, includes a 4200mAh battery, and lastly will sport a 1-megapixel camera.
Where the two differ is simply the design. Nexian’s Chromebook holds a white finish with a leather stitching design also it features a briefcase style handle to transport your device while on the go. Xolo, on the other hand, features an all-black finish without the handle placement seen within the Nexian Chromebook. There will apparently be more Chromebooks heading to India in the near future. According to Tech Crunch, Google has reported that other India based companies along with Asus and Samsung will be releasing additional Chromebooks within India’s market.
