Ulefone is not exactly the best known Chinese smartphone OEM in the world, but the company is trying to change things and make a name for themselves. This China-based company is known for manufacturing really solid and yet affordable handsets. One such device is the Be Touch handset which Ulefone announced last month. This is a mid-range offering by Ulefone which is already available via various resellers like Coolicool, GearBest, etc. This handset will cost you around $220 should you choose to buy it, and it’s available in a couple of different colors.
That being said, the company has recently showcased the device’s fingerprint scanning capabilities, and now they’re announcing that this handset will be updated to Android 5.1 Lollipop in about one month. The update will be available OTA, so you won’t have to manually connect the device to your computer or anything of the sort. The Ulefone Be Touch features a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS OGS display which is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 layer on top of the panel itself. This handset is also equipped with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD card). MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor running at 1.7GHz is fueling this device, while the phone offer 4G LTE connectivity as well. The 13-megapixel shooter (IMX214) is available on the back of the Ulefone Be Touch, and a 5-megapixel camera (OV5648) is located up front for your selfie and video call needs. As previously mentioned, this handset is also equipped with a fingerprint scanner, which doubles as a home button and is located below the display itself. Quick Charging is also available on this handset, in case you were wondering.
If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see a couple of images of the device itself. As you can see, the phone features two capacitive buttons next to the home button / fingerprint scanner. The menu button is located on the left, and the back button is available on the right side. The general design of this handset is somewhat understated, but the phone doesn’t look bad at all though.
