Xiaomi Mi 4i Available In Taiwan Starting Today

Xiaomi has announced their Mi 4i mid-range handset in India quite recently, and the device is rolling out to other markets now, Taiwan is first in line. The Mi 4i features a 5-inch 1080p display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 SoC clocked at 1.7GHz and it ships with a 3,120mAh battery. The 13-megapixel snapper is located on its back, and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Xiaomi’s MIUI 6.0 OS on top of it. The device is priced at NT$6.499 ($212).

Cuba And Huawei Might Partner Up Soon

Cuba is currently in talks with Huawei in order to get the company to do business in that country. The Cuban finance minister, Lina Pedraza, has said that Cuba is currently in discussion with a lot of companies actually. She also added that the Cuban telecoms sector is actually open to all foreign companies, but that there will be some limitations in place in order to block out the ‘negative part’ of the internet.

Huawei And OnePlus Power Banks Are Not Available In India

Xiaomi’s Mi Power Bank has been available in the country for a while now, and is now getting some competition from OnePlus and Huawei. The two companies have released their Power Banks in India, and they both cost Rs. 1,399. The OnePlus’ 10,000mAh Power Bank has been available since March and is available from Amazon India only in two color options. The Huawei’s 13,000mAh Honor AP007 Power Bank is available exclusively from Flipkart in Silver color option only.

Intex Cloud N Is An Entry-Level Handset With A 4″ Display

The Cloud N handset is yet another entry-level smartphone released by Intex in India. This handset is available exclusively via eBay India and costs Rs. 4,199. As far as its specs go, the Cloud N features a 4-inch 800 x 480 display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. This handset ships with 8 and 2-megapixel rear and front-facing camera, respectively. The 1,400mAh battery is also a part of this package, and the device comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat pre-installed with some additions by Intex. The device offers 3G support, no 4G LTE available here unfortunately.

XOLO Prime Is Yet Another Affordable Offering By The Company

This handset certainly isn’t fit for those of you looking something really powerful, but it’s an entry-level handset which has a really appealing price point. The Prime sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable). This handset is powered by a quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz, though the manufacturer of that chip isn’t listed by the company. The 5-megapixel camera is located on the back of this handset, and it ships with a 1,800mAh battery on the inside.

Small Pepper 9 Gets Certified In China, 4,700mAh Battery In Tow

We’ve talked about the ‘Pepper’ line of device a number of times now, but it’s possible that many of you haven’t heard of this brand. This China-based company has released quite a few device thus far, and the Little Pepper 9 is next. According to TENAA, the device will feature a 5-inch 1280 x 800 display on the front along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. MediaTek’s MT6735 processor will fuel this handset, and an 8-megapixel camera will be available on the back of the device. 4G LTE will also be a part of this package, and the device will weight 160 grams.

UK To Get Free Mobile Plans Soon

US-based mobile carrier FreedomPop has been somewhat successful in the US, and they intend to expand to the UK in July. This mobile carrier will provide 200 minutes, 200 texts and 200MB of free data on their SIM-only plan. The company will also offer free international calling to over 60 countries. The company has already unleashed  their website in the UK which let you check if you qualify for the company’s free SIM. The service will also roll out to Spain and France, and 20 more countries will follow according to the company.

Avengers Back Covers For The Galaxy A5 And S6 Now Available In The Philippines

As you all probably know by now, Samsung has partnered up with Marvel in order to offer some Avengers-themed accessories to consumers. That being said, with every purchase of the Galaxy A5 or Galaxy S6 in the Philippines from Samsung Experience Stores or an authorized Samsung reseller, the consumers will get a free Avengers-themed back cover. The promotion actually runs from May 6 to May 24, so keep that in mind. The consumers who purchase the A5 handset will get two free Avengers back covers, and the Galaxy S6 customers one Avengers Clear Back Cover.

Three Mobile Operators In Taiwan Receive Support For Google Play Carrier Billing

Google has updated Google Play’s ‘Accepted Payment Methods’ page and by doing that revealed changes to the direct billing section. Three Taiwan-based carriers are not listed on the ‘Accepted Payment Methods’ page. Carriers in question are: Chunghwa Telecom, Asia Pacific Telecom and T Star. These three carriers have joined the likes of Taiwan Mobile and FarEasTone Telecom which were already supported.
